- Born in Bologna
in 1967
- In 1983 he has
procured his first modem and has started to explore the world of networks.
· During 1985-1986 he has maintained, on a voluntary basis, documentation
on the different computer networks in use. This documentation was made
available using EARN LISTSERV servers installed in more than 20 nations.
- In 1987 he has
met Joy Marino for the first time. Under his guidance he has worked until
1993 on the management and development of IUnet, the first Italian Internet
network open to non-academic customers.
- In 1994 he has
founded together with Joy Marino ITnet S.p.A., and has remained as a stakeholder
until the acquisition by Wind Telecomunicazioni S.p.A. in 1999.
- Since 2000 he
works as Senior Systems Engineer in an international research centre, where
he is in charge of the development and implementation of complex communications
solutions characterized by a high degree of security.
- He holds a degree
in Electronic Engineering from the University of Genoa, has been author
of several scientific reports and presentations to conferences, and is
a member of ACM, AFCEA, and of the Italian Chapter of the Internet Society.
- Over the years
he has been involved in the activation of the CCTLDs for Italy (.IT, 1987),
Malta (.MT, 1992), and of the Holy See (.VA, 1995).
